My Birthday Weekend!!

Hey there! Let me just start off by saying that this was probably the best birthday weekend ever. I'll explain :)

So the entire week or two before my birthday I kept asking Patrick "what in the world are we going to do for my b-day" and of course he wouldn't tell me. I should have known!

So when the evening of the 12th rolled around Patrick laid a card on my pillow that was super cute and it talked about how it was going to be a great birthday weekend. The next morning I woke up and he had made me breakfast in bed. WOW! I was so impressed and excited.

Then, I got ready for work because I had a meeting at the store, so while I was in my meeting who else walks in but my very own husband and hands me some beautiful sunflowers and another hilarious card. I think I was speechless for a few seconds there. I introduced Patrick to the guy I was meeting with from the Dallas Morning News and then he left.

I finished my work that day and he had already warned me to be ready at 5:20, not 5:15 or 5:30, but 5:20 :) So I was and before we left the house he put a tie on me as a blindfold. Hmmm? We got in the car and he drove for about 20 minutes or so and asked me every now and then, "Do you know where you are?" and I said "All I can tell is that we have been going strait." So after that he starting making U turns in parking lots to try to throw me off the trail!

We get to our destination (which from our conversation I was under the impression that we were going to the airport) and he told me to wait in the car. I did, and also locked him out of the car but then I hear someone knocking on my window as well as the driver's window. WHAT??

I unlocked the door and took off my tie i.e blindfold and saw my sweet parents standing there! It was so awesome and Patrick had arranged for them to have dinner with us at The Melting Pot :) We told them at Christmas that if they came down we would all go to eat Fondue and they finally did on my birthday!!! I was so glad to see them and we had so much fun eating fondue. My husband is pretty sneaky :)

So then we all went back to our apartment, which was embarassingly messy and opened presents. Actually, Patrick gave me a present at the restaurant and I can't wait to use it, fun fun! My parents gave me some really cool things so that was awesome and then they left to go to their hotel for the night.

The next morning at 8 we met them at the Deli in Coppell and then walked over to the Farmer's Market. The store had a booth set up and they were selling stuff from our bakery, so I introduced my family to a few cool people from the store. After buying a few fresh veggies we had to say our goodbye's to my parents and it was sad.

After that Patrick and I went to Starbucks because sitting there with him and talking is one of my favorite things to do, and then we went to see "The Happening" and it was a really good movie.

It had Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel staring. The director and writer was M. Night Shyamalan and that was the real reason I wanted to see it, plus the previews looked good :)

We came home and ate a little something, I think I took a nap and then we went out to eat with Jen and Landon and Jen's brother at Cheddar's. YUM, and they got me a new battery for my camera so I was super excited and now I can start taking pictures again!

Yesterday, we spent lots of time with each other and it was really nice. I had a GREAT time and really felt alot of love from all of the people who called and emailed. I know how blessed I am to have such wonderful family and friends. I am so thankful everyday. Thanks so much to everyone and I hope you enjoyed reading!

Have a great Monday!

Good ole' West Texas!

Howdy-

This weekend we (me and Patrick) are in Andrews, TX. visiting his parents. It's always good to see them and eat some of Patrick's favorite foods. My parent's and his parent's both make amazing meals so we love visiting :) but of course we visit to spend time not just eat!

Patrick also really enjoys Taco Villa (and Nic if you are reading this we will bring you some back...just put in your order with us ok)

I know I haven't blogged for a couple of days mainly because things have been busy at work and all teachers just got out of school. Early Friday morning I got the privilege of keeping two SWEET little boys. I only kept them for about an hour or so but it was so much fun keeping a three year old and a 10 month old.

I don't have any pictures to post here but I will post some more soon ok! Have a great weekend and I will write back later!

Volleyball!

Hey Hey,

This blog I will be writing about volleyball. Mainly AVP Pro Beach Volleyball. I worked for a brief period of time with Hicks Sports Marketing Group and promoted the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour coming into town. It was fun (probably more fun to me because volleyball is MY sport of choice) and I also really wanted to show you this picture of Phil Dalhausser. He is only the number one pro beach volleyball player in the world and you can understand why just by looking at him.

Ok, so I am about 5'7" and a half (I like to say 5'8") so you can only guess how tall he is, and he is a beast when it comes to playing volleyball. He is also a very nice guy for taking a picture with me :)

Patrick also got took in some volleyball with me and my mom. She had him pose by the mini cooper because I want one and it was sweet! I probably still won't be getting a mini cooper anytime soon though.
Those are my only pics of the AVP tour, but feel free to ask any questions that you like or make it a point to go next year. It is a really neat environment and if you like volleyball then it is definitely the place for you.

NOW on to my next topic.

We watched "Dan in Real Life" last night and I must say it was awesome.

I LOVE Steve Carell in anything and he makes me laugh even when he is playing a serious role. Please go watch this movie. Juliette Binoche is in it and she is a cutie and Dane Cook plays "Dan's" brother. It is a movie about family too so I liked that.

One of my other all time favorite movies of the Year was "Into the Wild"

If you watch one movie this year go out and rent this one. It is based on a true story and it is a little long but the lessons learned and the people he meets are incredible. Emile Hirsch stars and Vince Vaughn is in it too. Vince doesn't have a big part, but I will watch most any movie with him in it.
Ok, this has become really long and I need to quit staring at the computer. Have a nice night and talk to you soon!

It's Monday, Woo Hoo!

Hello, Hello everyone who might be reading my blog.

Most of you know my family, but I wanted to attach a picture of them so you would know who in the world I was talking about when I mention them in my blog!

This is the fam...

Me, My brother Zac, Mom and Dad!

As you can see there is a Christmas Tree in the back and this was taken this past Christmas. They are all wonderful and I am so thankful for an amazing family, as well as awesome in-laws.

Nothing new is going on today, just working (and taking some time out to blog and eat an apple) I think that Patrick and I will be watching "Dan in Real Life" tonight because we haven't seen it yet but heard that it was really great. If something else drastic happens before tonight and tomorrow I promise I will let you know about it.

Thanks for reading and I promise I will try to find some good material to write about.

Oh...If you see a sign that looks like this...

Definitely go in. You just might see us popping up all over the place. Watch out Central Market!

Have a great Monday and I will talk to you soon!

Bad Movie Alert!!!

*Warning* *Warning*

Please do not see this movie...

We weren't able to go out with Nic and Ashley last night so we watched "Before the Devil Knows Your Dead" this weekend instead with our family and the movie was a terrible tragedy. All Patrick and I could say last night that it is wrong on so many levels. I will keep you updated on all of our movie trials and tribulations. I love movies and music so I will tell you all about the great ones I see as well. Speaking of music, just go on out right now and buy yourself an Elton John CD. Greatness!

Ok, I have to go now, but have an excellent Sunday and I will write soon.
