The big ONE!

McKenna turns ONE tomorrow and there are so many emotions that are going through my head right now. I am so proud of her and thankful for the sweet baby that she is and who she is going to be. She is already so amazing and such a joy to our lives and she has only been in our lives for one short year. I know that she will be a great big sister SOMEDAY :) and we are so proud and feel so blessed that God gave us this sweet baby to raise and care for.

I am also in the middle of pretty much a constant state of prayer for my sister-in-law Jennifer and her twin babies. She is 28 weeks tomorrow (Mj's birthday) and still on hospital bed rest. She is literally fighting for her babies lives on a daily basis while I am able to watch my babe turn one. It makes me thankful, sad, hopeful, prayerful, faithful, and so on. I know God has a plan for their family and has already shown his faithfulness to them in so many ways.

If you are reading this thank you for celebrating with us and please keep praying for Kaylan and Dylan.

Another quick prayer while you are lifting up the sweet twins is for one of my best friends, Amy. Her husband, Rex, was just laid off from his job and she is a stay at home mom, they just bought a house and they have 3 children, a 4 year old and 1 year old twins. Pray that Rex can find something relatively quick that he is suited for. He is amazingly talented. He can paint, sculpt, draw, design, etc. So if you know of anything definitely let me know.

Thanks again and until next time!

My Small Baby Girl

For the past 3 months or so McKenna's dr. has been pretty concerned about her weight. She weighed about 15lbs at her 9 month appt. and we have seen her 3 times since and she now weighs almost 17lbs. She will be 1 year on June 3rd so most of you know that is pretty small for a 1 year old.

A very common conversation when I take her anywhere goes a little something like this:

Stranger: "Oh, she is so cute, how old is she? About 6 or 7 months old?

Me: "Thanks, she is actually about to be a year in June". :)

Stranger: "Wow, she is tiny."

Me: "Yep, I get that alot."

Anyway, needless to say, it gets old quick and especially since we have been to the dr. so much and it has been such a source of stress for me. I worried because our dr. made me feel bad like I wasn't feeding her enough and she wasn't getting enough nourishment so I decided to get a second opinion from a doctor that several of our friends use and absolutely love.

We went today and this doctor wasn't at all concerned about her weight. She just wants her to continue to gain (which she has all along) continue to grow in length and she definitely wants her head to continue to grow. She has always had a small head but it is still growing so that is good. I felt much better for my baby girl after this appointment.

I don't know if she is going to be small all her life but it is definitely too early to tell right now. I am just glad this doctor seemed to think she was perfectly healthy and happy and developmentally on track. If things change within the next few months I will let you know, but Praise God for a good report today.

On another note, in my last post I wrote about my future niece and nephew, Kaylan and Dylan. Last week, Jen and Landon went in for a sonogram and Kaylan had DOUBLED in size! WOW, talk about amazing! Dylan is growing like a weed and doing very well too! They have tons of people praying for them and these babies are already very loved by so many people! Thank you for keeping then in your prayers and continue to pray, pray, pray! She needs to keep up that growth!

Thanks again everyone and until next time,

Kaylan and Dylan

Today I have been thinking about Kaylan and Dylan Fariss.

My sister in law, Jennifer, is 23 weeks pregnant with these sweet babies and is having some complications, specifically with Kaylan. She is not growing quite as fast as Dylan is and the Dr's aren't quite sure why. Therefore she is somewhat small for 23 weeks, but she is still growing (just slowly) and has some amazing parents! I ask that you lift these sweet little ones up in prayer and also pray for Jennifer and Landon as they continue to make decisions during her pregnancy.

Thanks everyone and I will be back soon.

San Diego

Hey Everyone-

We have been traveling with Patrick's job and it has been such a blast! McKenna had her first plane ride to the amazing city of San Diego where she got to see our amazing friends Matt and Katie Maxwell. We had so much fun and Katie is going to be mad at me but I have no pictures to post right now because I don't have my usb cord for the computer. I promise they are coming!!!

We also just got back from a trip to Austin/Belton and spent some time with some good friends. So much is going on and McKenna turns ONE on June 3rd so let the birthday party planning begin!

I will write more soon but MJ is waking up from her nap so I have to run and this is kinda a test post to see what the new blog looks like. I may tweak is a bit! Bye for now!

Prayers Please

Hi All-

I know it has been several months since we have posted and usually everything is about McKenna but I am coming to those of you who read my blog asking for prayers today. Patrick tutors several students in the metroplex and one of his students, her name is Taylor, was killed this week in a skiing accident during her spring break. He saw her last week before she left so he feels very shocked, sad, etc. for her family and friends. Please lift up especially her family in your prayers. Thanks so much and I will post more later on what is going on in our lives.

Love,
Chels
