A Successful Month

One month down, 215 to go. As of July 3, McKenna Jane is one month old! In one month, we have not broken her, and hopefully we have not scarred her beyond repair. Possibly the biggest accomplishment is that she has survived us. Especially after last night's first full bath. If you can imagine being transferred to a peaceful sleeping state to a bucket of water in a short period of time, then you can understand her shock and amazement that these people that hold her, rock her, and take care of her, would subject her to such a cruel punishment. In return, she decided to keep us up most of the night tossing, fidgeting, and stirring. It's good to know that we are no longer in charge, and she hopes we will think twice before trying that again.
On a happier note, we continue to enjoy the meals and company of our Prestoncrest family. Ted and Megan Howard were the latest to bless us, and I believe MJ enjoyed them (as can be seen in the picture above). We look forward to being able to bring her to church and to get out of the house at some point in the future.

McKenna's First Bath

Not a pleasant time for baby McKenna. My plan was to be out of the house and no where around so she would not think that her daddy was trying to do these mean things to her, but I ended up staying around and holding her little hands while these mean people (her mom and nana), washed her with a cloth. She was not a happy camper, but she was able to wear herself out enough to sleep for 3.5 hours post bath. Nevertheless, she is safe and sound (and clean) now.
