My Amazing Husband!

This weekend has been a crazy and hectic one, but probably nothing that compares to what my husband has just experienced. He will hate that I am blogging about this, but he has just completed his 7th marathon!! I am so proud of him, and although I definitely knew he could do it, I am a beaming wife and love him so much.

If anyone out there is interested, he ran the Oklahoma City Marathon and really liked it. It is very well organized and according to Patrick is a great marathon to run in. I am not sure if it is considered a "beginner's marathon" but it was the first marathon for him to ever run and he hasn't stopped since, so they definitely do things right!

Congrats babe! I love you!

As for the pregnancy and baby Fariss, things are going pretty well here. My mom came into town this weekend to help me with her nursery and there was ALOT to do. Luckily we got so much done and we just have a few things left to assemble and the bags to pack for the hospital and we will be pretty much finished. It was so nice to have her here helping because she definitely kept me on track, even when my lovely sciatic nerve was killing me :)

I am 35 weeks and 1 day today so it won't be long until McKenna makes her arrival. We are really excited. I will let you know how the next few weeks go and what kind of progress we are making.

I have shower pictures to post too, but I will have to put those up next post! All of this typing is making me short of breath! :) Have a great night!

A New Leaf

So I have hijacked my wife's blog. In an attempt to document the latest happenings, I am blogging for Chelsea. She is hard at work with thank you notes and baby business, so I have been relegated to resident blogger.

We hereby resolve to keep our blog updated!

Check out Chelsea's pic from our photoshoot with Debbie Riggs (http://www.pure-photography.com/ ). She does an amazing job and is highly recommended! We Love You Debbie!

My Belly!

I thought I would share a few pictures with y'all because I was feeling particularly large tonight, and believe me, I know I am only going to grow larger.

This is my lovely front view...I am only 19 weeks today and I feel massive.

This is me from the side. Fun, fun! But I am pretty sure I am starting to feel her move which is pretty cool.

That is all for now! Sleep well and try not to have bad dreams. :)

Long time no see!

Hello Friends, Family, etc!

At the request of my husband and my dear friend Katie Marie Riggs Maxwell I am going to start up the blogging again. I should have been doing this all along and I really have no excuse, but alot has happened since this summer (as you can see from my last post.)

Yes, we are having a little baby girl! She is due at the end of May and we don't know what we are going to name her quite yet, but my sweet friend Ashley calls her Figgy Fariss because at one point she was the size of a fig. It has stuck so you can call her Figgy if you like until we figure out what she will be called for the rest of her life :)

We are really excited and feel extremely blessed that we will be parents in about 5 months so I will definitely try to be more diligent about posting pictures with what is going on with us.

As for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year, they were pretty amazing as usual. We spent Thanksgiving with my parents and had delicious food and had lots of family in from California so that was a great time. I got to see my Uncle Mike and Aunt Linda and Patrick got to talk guns with Uncle Mike which I think he seriously enjoyed. He will be going to the gun range soon he got so fired up. He says he now has two women to protect!

We spent Christmas with Patrick's family. It was a great time and we got waaay too much stuff from both sides of the family. We came home and threw stuff away because of all of the stuff we got and luckily Patrick's brother & sister in law (Jen & Landon) are having a garage sale in the spring so we are taking a bunch of other stuff over to their house what seems like every day.

Today is New Year's day and Patrick and I are both a little sick with a head cold or something fun like that. I can't really take alot for it besides Tylenol and just try to let it pass so I am totally having a blast being completely stopped up and I know I am snoring extremely loud at night.

Other than that, not alot is happening. We are really looking forward to 2009 and what it has in store for our family. I will leave you with a few pictures for your enjoyment and maybe a video or two! Have a great evening and a wonderful New Year!

My Birthday Weekend!!

Hey there! Let me just start off by saying that this was probably the best birthday weekend ever. I'll explain :)

So the entire week or two before my birthday I kept asking Patrick "what in the world are we going to do for my b-day" and of course he wouldn't tell me. I should have known!

So when the evening of the 12th rolled around Patrick laid a card on my pillow that was super cute and it talked about how it was going to be a great birthday weekend. The next morning I woke up and he had made me breakfast in bed. WOW! I was so impressed and excited.

Then, I got ready for work because I had a meeting at the store, so while I was in my meeting who else walks in but my very own husband and hands me some beautiful sunflowers and another hilarious card. I think I was speechless for a few seconds there. I introduced Patrick to the guy I was meeting with from the Dallas Morning News and then he left.

I finished my work that day and he had already warned me to be ready at 5:20, not 5:15 or 5:30, but 5:20 :) So I was and before we left the house he put a tie on me as a blindfold. Hmmm? We got in the car and he drove for about 20 minutes or so and asked me every now and then, "Do you know where you are?" and I said "All I can tell is that we have been going strait." So after that he starting making U turns in parking lots to try to throw me off the trail!

We get to our destination (which from our conversation I was under the impression that we were going to the airport) and he told me to wait in the car. I did, and also locked him out of the car but then I hear someone knocking on my window as well as the driver's window. WHAT??

I unlocked the door and took off my tie i.e blindfold and saw my sweet parents standing there! It was so awesome and Patrick had arranged for them to have dinner with us at The Melting Pot :) We told them at Christmas that if they came down we would all go to eat Fondue and they finally did on my birthday!!! I was so glad to see them and we had so much fun eating fondue. My husband is pretty sneaky :)

So then we all went back to our apartment, which was embarassingly messy and opened presents. Actually, Patrick gave me a present at the restaurant and I can't wait to use it, fun fun! My parents gave me some really cool things so that was awesome and then they left to go to their hotel for the night.

The next morning at 8 we met them at the Deli in Coppell and then walked over to the Farmer's Market. The store had a booth set up and they were selling stuff from our bakery, so I introduced my family to a few cool people from the store. After buying a few fresh veggies we had to say our goodbye's to my parents and it was sad.

After that Patrick and I went to Starbucks because sitting there with him and talking is one of my favorite things to do, and then we went to see "The Happening" and it was a really good movie.

It had Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel staring. The director and writer was M. Night Shyamalan and that was the real reason I wanted to see it, plus the previews looked good :)

We came home and ate a little something, I think I took a nap and then we went out to eat with Jen and Landon and Jen's brother at Cheddar's. YUM, and they got me a new battery for my camera so I was super excited and now I can start taking pictures again!

Yesterday, we spent lots of time with each other and it was really nice. I had a GREAT time and really felt alot of love from all of the people who called and emailed. I know how blessed I am to have such wonderful family and friends. I am so thankful everyday. Thanks so much to everyone and I hope you enjoyed reading!

Have a great Monday!
