McKenna says Hi and Merry Christmas to All!

So Chelsea has had a rough day. She had to bathe MJ this morning (normally a nightly cooperative effort), she has a headache, and her chicken exploded in the microwave. Thankfully she has MJ to keep her company and brighten her day. Not that I have a great deal of adult interaction working with middle schoolers, but bless her her heart, she is a saint! When I get home we are going together to Target, and I will be sure she gets a Cinnamon Dulce Latte from Starbucks-

Chelsea's shower

Since Chelsea has gotten her BlackBerry, she occasionally sends me updates throughout the day. I found the following amusing...

I just got a shower and mj was awake and sitting in her bumbo in the bathtub. She did amazing. Everytime the shower started to fog I would rub the door and talk to her and she thought it was hilarious. Whoever built this bathroom was brilliant!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Rolled over 4 times this morning (according to Chelsea, but I think she is pretty credible).

At the request of Katie Fariss

It is a crazy time amongst the Fariss Family right now. With school, tutoring, moving, trying to train for a marathon, and still get to see McKenna and Chelsea, it is hard to find time to fit everything in. Nevertheless, we had a great week! We should be moved in to the new house this time next week, so it is important for us to use this weekend to accomplish some things.

The floors are complete and look great! Furniture was on the list, but will have to take a backseat while we use the status quo temporarily. My phone took a dive this week, so we found a great deal and got 2 blackberrys for $50. The hope is that we can share pics and video much easier.

That is the goal and we will see. McKenna has not slept well the last 2 nights, thus neither have I or Chelsea. At 3:30 a.m. this morning, I had the opportunity to learn more about my Blackberry since MJ was awake. Hoping to grab a nap pretty quick since she is asleep in her swing, but that could change in the blink of an eye.

Just wanted to take a second to brag on the incredible job that Chelsea does day in and day out. Getting to stay with MJ for 2 brief periods today helps me to realize what a tough job she has, and how hard it is to accomplish what is on my list. We are truly blessed and very thankful, and I am even more so for the job that my wife does!

Since Chelsea is out running errands and she has the camera, my only option is to share a few older pics that were taken earlier in October. Check back later tonight, and I will try to post some newer ones. Have a great weekend and we hope you all will come see us in the new house!

McKenna's Newest Trick

">

McKenna's latest trick is to give mommy kisses. Little wet and slobbery, but Chelsea does not seem to mind.

Little less than a month away from closing on the new house. It's been a long process, but the light is at the end of the tunnel. Did not get up to run my 16 this a.m. Actually I did get up, and even got dressed, but fatigue from a long week hit me, and I ended up sleeping on the couch for another couple of hours. Nevertheless, I do feel rested, and plan to be up at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning to tackle it again! I will blame McKenna for waking me up 2-3 times last night.

Our daughter is the car that makes the strange noise that causes you to take your car into the repair shop. But when the mechanic takes a look or drives it around, the noise never occurs. In the same way, McKenna will talk and do some pretty amazing tricks (we are easily amused), but stick a camera in her face or put her on the phone to speak to our parents...and NOTHING! She is sly, but I have age on my side. And so the battle begins...

McKenna at home with Chelsea

Not much of a song and dance girl yet, but you should see her drool and sneeze!

Thank You to the Flemings!

Just a couple of quick pics before filling up the first day of my 3 day weekend. Special thanks to Tiffany and Daniel Fleming for last night's delicious poppy seed chicken. It is off to wake up Chelsea so we can get ready to look at houses later this morning. Oh the joys of first-time homebuyers...

Chelsea's Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Chelsea! Yesterday (June 13) was Chelsea's birthday, and she did not mind sharing all the attention with MJ. Since our power was restored (possibly a birthday wish), her mom and dad were able to come up and celebrate (although I believe they had alterior motives as to just seeing Chelsea :) ). Landon and Jen were also able to come over and spend some time last night. I hope Chelsea had a good birthday-

We welcome all friends, family, and even total strangers as we are adjusting to life without television. It may take a few days to adjust since we have not purchased a digital converter box, and it will be easier for me since I will be teaching summer school and not stuck in the apartment. However, with my mom here to stay with Chelsea and help with McKenna, I'm sure they will find some clever way to entertain themselves.
It is time to bathe the little one, so off we go -- will post more in the near future!
